FIT and California Screw Products Inc. joins Fastener Technology Corporation, Inc. (acquired by Avantus Aerospace in 2019) in Avantus Fasteners.

September 2020

FIT is acquired by Avantus Aerospace, a global leader of C-Class and Composite parts for the aerospace and defense industry. 

June 2020

Shimtech Industries changes its name to Avantus Aerospace to more clearly denote its capabilities.  The Group now incorporates C-class parts manufacture and detailed composite production.

May 2015

Shimtech Industies and its group companies are purchased by Inflexion Private Equity and Auctus Industries.

2014

Stanley Black & Decker sell FIT to CSPS Holdings, Inc.  

2014

FIT is relocated to South Susana Road in Rancho Dominguez (Compton), CA.

2010

FIT is sold to Stanley Black and Decker

2010

James and Marian Sparropolis sell FIT to Emhart Teknologies, which was acquired by Stanley Black & Decker shortly after.

FIT grew again and employee numbers exceeded 100 so it was relocated to Broadway Ave in Gardena, CA.
 

1985

As the company grew with new employees and additional equipment, FIT needed to relocate in 1985 to Western Ave in Gardena, CA. New equipment was added to the Western facility including Aida hot forges and cold headers, drilling machines, EDM machines, fatigue machine and slotters.

1981

Larry Valeriano joins FIT as a machinist.  By 1985 he is Headerman at California Screw Products ('CSP'), becoming Sales Manager before he buys CSP.  In 2014, his company buys FIT.
 

1979

Fastener Innovation Technology, Inc. began business on 03/22/1979, with owners James and Marian Sparropolis.  It  was originally located on East Anaheim Street in Wilmington, CA, with approximately 6 office staff and 12 shop staff.
