Eccentric and Alignment Pins

Alignment pins
Available in an array of complexities, shapes and materials, alignment pins are utilized throughout the aerospace production process. Different alignment pins can be selected to suit different complexities at each stage of production. The more basic alignment pins include shoulder pins, jig pins, clamping pins, T pins and L pins; these more simple designs are usually utilized to position removable airframe components during the production process.

Shear pins
Shear pins are used in aircraft construction to join structural assemblies. In a shear joint, the fastened pieces move in opposite directions, parallel to their mating surfaces. Shear pins are designed to maintain a connection between the component parts without causing damage. Shear pins can be made from a range of materials, but for additional sheal-load carrying capabilities, lightweight and high strength materials such as titanium and cress are often the preferred choice.

Eccentric alignment pins
Eccentric alignment pins perform a range of functions, including the accurate and efficient alignment of electronic or electrical connectors and assemblies on avionics and ground support equipment. When utilized in this context, eccentric alignment pins allow for the permanent and precise engagement and disengagement of avionics and ground support components.
